I started playing music because…
When I was three years-old, my mom asked me “do you want to learn the violin?”
and I said…”ummm…ok”
Weirdest Gig:
“I played a concert in China a few years ago where about half the orchestra refused to play the concert because of dismal conditions. I had to play with my winter coat on because a door backstage was propped open by the cables running the jumbo-tron.”

I started playing music because…
I started playing because I wanted to be like my older sisters who I watched take lessons from the time I was a little girl. I would take my Mom’s decorative folk art violin off of the wall and put it on the wrong shoulder and use a ruler as a bow!
Weirdest Gig:
I’ve seen many a weird gig but I’d say it’s a toss up between … improvising waltzes for an hour with a trio because our first violinist was taken to solo in the hallway, even though we had spent six hours memorizing waltzes as a quartet. This may or may not have been thanks to a few ridiculous celebrities and a less than well managed music contractor …. Or the numerous times Willy Wonka music has been requested for a bride? Just why?
